A Construction Mission associated with the Arkansas Baptist State Convention.
Nailbenders for Jesus is a construction mission group made up of volunteers from Arkansas and neighboring states. We help small to medium size congregations on new construction projects and add-ons, such as; Sanctuaries, Educational Facilities, Fellowship Halls, etc.
Our membership consists of retired (mostly) Christian men and women who believe they have been called by God to further His kingdom through this type of mission. Other Christian men and women with a similar calling are welcome and encouraged to come join us. You will experience what we believe is the greatest fulfillment one can experience in life, serving God by serving others! Most of us have no professional experience in construction. No experience is required, just a desire to serve!
We schedule 7 jobs a year, one each in March, April, May, June, September, October, and November. Available volunteers arrive on the Thursday after the first Wednesday of the month and begin work on Friday. We work six days a week with our last work day being Thursday two weeks after arrival. Departure is early the next morning. Our two weeks are filled with hard work, worship, and fellowship. Weather permitting, you will find us in the evenings circled under the best available shade tree enjoying our time together.
Nailbenders for Jesus is supported through contributions from a variety of sources. Many of the churches we have helped make a one time donation while a few sponsor us through their church budget. We also receive support through the Dixie Jackson offering for missions. The Lord has provided all of the equipment we could possibly need to fulfill this mission. Individuals need only to bring their tool belt and hammer. The rest can be found in our tool trucks. Each volunteer is responsible for all of their travel expenses.
Nailbenders generally work within the boundaries of Arkansas but may go slightly over the borders on occasion. This limitation is required because of the number of jobs we work each year and the short two week turn around between jobs.
Nailbenders work for churches associated with the Southern Baptist State Convention. In addition we work on Missionary Baptist churches associated with one of the following:
- Regular Arkansas Missionary Baptist State Convention
- Consolidated Missionary Baptist State Convention
- General Missionary Baptist State convention
Nailbender workdays begin at 07:30 with prayer and a devotional. Daily devotionals are given by one of the volunteers.
